Govt bunglson flood relief:

Of course, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa was rather preoccupied with his own troubles, desperately trying to save his government from sinking under the determined onslaught of the Bellary Reddys. But, Lokayukta Santosh Hegde has exposed the shoddy, and shocking, relief measures. Take, for instance: l Bagalkot — Some sheds constructed for rehabilitation of disabled persons were not fit for human habitation. l Bagalkot again — Cattle fodder supplied in a few villages was not of good quality and cheques issued by the government to victims as compensation were not honoured by banks. l In some places, compensation was paid to people who did not even live in the flood-affected villages.
